Hello, I'm Indira Negi, the founder of Confident Pose.

I've tried multiple braces and devices for my own posture. And realized they don't work. So we have built a custom-engineered solution and EMG muscle sensor to truly improve your posture through measurable muscle engagement.

For years, the wellness technology space has been dominated by simple trackers - devices that quantify movement or position. I recognized that for posture, this approach was flawed! The universal problem of poor posture, often leading to chronic pain, is a biomechanical deficit - a lack of muscular endurance.
This realization drove the core innovation of Confident Pose: to build a system that moves beyond simple awareness and offers genuine, physiological guidance. We developed a custom-engineered solution because no simple motion-only sensor could provide the physiological data we required.

Factual Basis: Electromyography (EMG) signals provide reliable insight into muscle engagement and fatigue, offering a personalized basis for posture classification.
Active Training: By providing real-time feedback on muscle effort, the user is actively training the muscles required to sustain good posture. This approach aligns with the research-backed consensus in the posture community that lasting posture improvement comes from strengthening muscles, not weakening them with braces.
Personalized Results: Confident Pose uses this objective EMG data, combined with motion sensing, to perform personalized calibration, which establishes user-specific baselines and dynamically adapts thresholds. This commitment to individual physiology ensures our feedback helps you improve your posture accurately.

Developing Confident Pose was a focused effort by engineers and designers to combine smart sensing with comfortable design. We built advanced EMG technology to measure true muscle engagement and support active strengthening, all in a lightweight device that delivers real-time feedback and personalized insights through the app.

The Confident Pose advantage
Confident Pose pairs a reusable electronic module with a disposable adhesive patch. The patch sits on your upper back and uses three conductive zones to maintain consistent EMG contact without precise placement. The module fuses EMG signals with motion data: EMG tracks real-time muscle activation, and the accelerometer monitors upper-body and shoulder orientation. This lets the device detect when you look upright but aren’t actually engaging the right muscles. Calibration is personalized to your own EMG patterns. In the app, you record your natural Good and Bad Posture to set individualized EMG and motion thresholds. If slouching continues past your chosen duration, the module gives a discreet vibration cue. The app displays real-time Good vs. Slouch time and provides daily and weekly progress charts with clear, color-coded summaries, plus posture training and educational content.
